    Not usually.
    Just make sure it’s good quality rugs and make it a point to keep the floor clean.
    If the rugs are cheap, the backing could loosen, then if it starts moving around, all the dust and dirt that might have gotten under it will act like sand paper every time it gets walked across.

    Yup..any rug or piece of carpet that is left in the same place …the floor around it will changeslightly do the wear and sunlight…the area covered willl stay "new" backing on the rugs seem to worsen the condition. On throw rugs..it’snot a big deal b/cause they don’t stay in the exact same place like a area rug or romm size piece of carpet. hope that helps ?
