what is the material for a soft heavy duty rug?
i am looking for an area rug in my family room. as i have three small children and lots of traffic in the family room i need something really durable and easy to clean. also since the kids, and other family members sit on the floor a lot to read, do homework, or play. i need something that is really soft and not prickly. does anyone have any suggestiong as to what material i should look for, how much it should cost, or some good companies. thanks.

Many materials could provide what you’re wanting. I think you’d just better go to a carpet store and see what you like. It’s possible to buy wall-to wall type carpet and have the edges bound so it becomes an area rug which gives you a lot of choice.
