What is the best way to clean pipe tobacco/ash stains off of a rug?
I smoke a pipe, and just noticed some ash got on the rug- I tried washing out the black stains with soap- but nothing works- The carpet isnt burned, just the black marks wont come off. Is there a good way for cleaning tobacco ash stains off a carpet?
I found a remedey that actually works- Shaving cream! Sounds implausable, but it really doies take out stains

There is miracle stuff. I buy it at KMART. It’s called Folex Instant Carpet Spot remover. I spray the stain. (And I have beige carpets!) then I press it with a towel. It comes right out. It’s really good stuff.
The best stuff is Greased Lightning. It works on everything. It’s in a white, yellow and black spray bottle in most stores.
