What color rug would you use with claret red parson chair slipcovers?

I have purchased some claret red slipcovers to go over my parsons chairs. The base of the table is a cream color. The table top is long rectangular glass. The linoleum is a cream color as well. What color rug would you put under that? I have purchased some coffee-themed table mats (my kitchen is coffee themed with many different colors).

I think it would look good to bring some black into the mix. I put in a link to a rug that has black, some of the red, and cream/tan in it. It comes in many sizes/shapes, as well as other colors.

If you are just going to buy an area rug to to under the table try to match the chairs; However, if it is wall to wall carpeting I would go with a neutral color like beige or cream since if you get tired of red the chair slipcovers will be much easier and cheaper to change than wall to wall carpeting.
Believe it or not red is a color people tire of very quickly. over the long haul.
