Warm rugs for winter
We’re in the grip of one of the coldest winters in 30 years. Now more than ever, when you’re clinging on to every bit of warmth your home can produce, is the best time to consider that lovely warm rug to keep the winter cold at bay.
So what type of rug should you get for winter?
One thing to consider when buying a winter rug, is whether the rug will be dressing the floor of a main room or a back room. It’s not just about visitors: we all tend to spend more time at home in the winter months, especially when it’s this cold!
If you’re dressing up a backroom floor, or perhaps a private office in your home, then the rug can really be anything you want it to be, from wacky funky rugs to the more contemporary rugs out there.
If on the other hand you’re dressing up the main room floor, you may want to go that extra inch further to buy a tasteful rug that not only warms the home but also impresses.
And of course, since you’re going to be spending some time at home, you also deserve a treat when it comes to feasting your eyes on a great luxurious winter rug!
Here are 2 rugs which we think are perfect for the cold winder months:
- Wool rugs – we love these and so do most people. Read here 3 good reasons to buy a wool rug
- Shaggy rugs – these are a timeless favourite!
