How to take care a wool rug ?
June 27, 2010 by · 3 Comments
I have a large wool rug, its ivory in colour and around an inch thick, 5 ft wide and 7ft long, its not dirty with stains but just looks a bit grubby to me and picks up all sorts of fluff etc, i hoover it everyday as the fibres off it get everywhere ! even though the label says not to hoover it, it would be impossible not to ! they are static and stick to the hoover and the tv, the rug is approx 4 months old.
The lable states -
100% pure new wool pile, do not hoover, do not dry clean, do not bleach, colourfast,
My questions are -
How do youstop the static fibres being lost ?
How can i make it look not so grubby ?
Any ideas are appreciated !
washing machine is out of the question due to its size !

The rug is wool, no backing and about 5×8 and covered in dog and cat hair! Can I do it myself? Or do I need to take it to the cleaners?
Is a rug pad neccesary for laminate wood floors?
May 12, 2010 by · 2 Comments
I just purchased an 8×11 handmade wool rug online. I am not sure if I need a rug pad under it to keep it from slipping or whatever. I’ve seen a few rubber ones that cost around and some thicker plush ones going for over 0. Is it really worth it?

I have a wool rug that I left in my garage for many years. Because of that it has developed a musty smell from the humidity. It doesn’t have mildew, just a funky smell. What can I do to get rid of it? Thanks.

We have recently bought a 100% wool rug which is dark brown and it sits on quite a light coloured carpet. Every time someone walks on it there is a trail of brown coloured bits everywhere? Does anyone have any tips on how to minimise this problem?
How to decorate with wool area rugs?

I just bought a wool area rug (2′ x 3′). It doesn’t look good where I wanted to put it. Could I put it in a small powder room? Also, would it look good to use a large wool area rug over burbur carpet?
