Is it okay if I bleach and dye throw rugs?

I’m changing the decor of my room. I have 2 dark blue throw rugs that wont match anymore. Instead of buying new ones, I was thinking of bleaching them, then dying them black. Will that work? if so how can I bleach them? I was going to put them in a tote with bleach and water but im not sure how much bleach and how much water I should use.
thanks everyone so far. Im not worried about the black coming off onto the carpet. The truth is the only reason I have throw rugs is to hide big holes in the carpet. Its old and ugly and torn up, and until I can afford a new carpet, throw rugs will have to suffice.

How to decorate with toss pillows and area rugs?

I have an multicolor area rug with paisley type designs throughout. The colors in the rug are blue,red,green,chocolate brown,and tan. My couch is chocolate brown. I recently purchased some toss pillows. I have solid tan pillows and I bought pillows with blue and green paisley design with tan background. Should I match my toss pillows with my area rug or do something different. I need help!

How can I find rugs and decorations that are seen in bedroom displays?

I recently bought a new bedroom set and I’m trying to find the decorations and the rug that I saw on the display. I tried contacting the company but they said they only use the rugs and decorations for “display purposes only” and they don’t know exactly where they come from. I’m not too sure if that’s true but either way they offered no help. The decorations they have match the bedroom set so perfectly and I can’t find them!! If someone knows please help!!

Area Rug Problem My ranch house has 22' long Hall. What to do for runner?

I can rarely find anything longer than 12′. I am worried about doing more than one but also worried how bad a long single would look. It is glossy hardwood and they keep getting smudgy footprints from even the slightest moist feet. (kids leaving hall bath from a bath) Also I have so much hardwood everywhere I need to break it up. Also certain guests are a pain about making them remove shoes. I need ideas where to shop, JCP had everything last month but now I want to order and they no longer carry the long sizes. Another thing is I wanted the hall runner to match whatever I put in Living room which needs to be big also 11 X 14 would be ok. I can’t find these sizes of rugs affordable, except JCP but they have no big ones. I ‘d like to spend under 1500 plus include a 8 x 10 for the dining room (not to match).
