i have a 4″39; round dining table, should i buy a 4″39; or at least 6″39; round area rug?
i have a 4′ diameter round dining table and i want to buy an area rug to put underneath it. should i buy just a 4′ round rug or an area rug bigger to even accomodate the chairs when somebody is sitting on it which means that the chair will be away from the edge of the table for about another feet or two.

You need at least close to 8 feet, I lived with a 7’10" ROUND area rug under my 48 inch. Forget the oval and either a 4 or 6 you will have chairs half off the rug. Put your chairs under the table, take a tape measure and check it out. I had hard wood under my table and it was important for me to have the chairs stay on the rug.
