How do I stop my rugs from ‘walking’ on my carpets?
I have used the sticky tape but that is only good on hard floors such as laminated or tiled floors

You need a non-slip rug hold!

You can get these from carpet shops and similar – it’s just a type of underlay that can be cut to size, and it does work. My mother has them all over the house.
