How do I stop an area rug from moving on laminate floor?
I just put down laminate floors for my living room and I bought an area rug. The rug moves when ever I walk across it. I always thought the more expensive the rug, the heavier it was but I guess I was wrong.

You can buy rubber mesh to put under the rug. Any place that sells carpet will have it, and so does Home Depot. Just cut it with scissors so it’s a bit smaller than the rug, and you can tape it on with wide masking tape if you like.
You get the idea that there are SPECIAL type mats just for this purpose.. You ll need the type for rugs over a hard surface, since they are made for rugs over carpet, over wood and over a hard surface. Never use tape of any kind. It will leave a residue that attracts dirt later.
These made provide a non slip rug. They feel tacky , but leave no residue to attract dirt. Since they themselves feel tacky, they collect dirt and will lose the ability to keep the rug from slipping and bunching. Wash in washer to get dirt out and reuse. So know rug(s) sizes since you can get them in many sizes or if the rug is large , some places carry large wide rolls of the mat.
