Do shaggy rug’s go flat ? Or hard ?

I want to buy a rug for my living room, but I am worried that it will go flat and hard. Does this happen ? How do I look after it ? I’m wanting 6ft by 4ft
Ok, this is the rug that I am thinking of buying, so if someone can tell me the pros and cons about this type of material, it would help. Will it go hard and flat like some do, how can I prevent that….

From what I can see and tell, no it shouldn t do either. It says it made of a synthetic material. That usually means it s a nylon which is good , but it could mean olefin or polyester, which are good at keeping stains out but they are a softer material. If this is a high traffic area , I d be cautious about using it. If its more for decoration and to go in the living or family room I think it d be fine. Front foyer , if it doesn t see a lot of traffic , it be fine too. Just keep it clean and vacuum it regularly GL
