Are there any special precautions to be taken in washing a Jute rug with soap and water or you can do it the normal way by dumping it in washing machine ?

The jute will disintegrate with water. I’ve even tried spot cleaning it with liquid cleaners and it left a water ring. Your best bet is to vacuum up the dust in it and use dry carpet cleaning granules to spot treat.
