I think I know what you are trying to ask and no. A rug is made of woven materials. I’m assuming you have wall to wall carpet in your dining room. If that’s so have you looked under it? You may have a great floor under there! I saw one idea for a dining room that really looked great. The center of the room where the table sat had the carpet cut out and the center was done in hardwood. You need a carpet layer to finish off the inside edge but it was stunning! The carpet still framed the room all the way around but the contrasting textures of the carpet and wood gave it a real custom look. Good luck!
Have you considered purchasing an outdoor rug to use an an area rug in your dining room? These rugs are made of waterproof materials, and you can hose them off outside if you need to clean them. I would suggest looking at hardware stores as well as those that sell patio furniture to find one. Some of them really do look like indoor area rugs. Best of luck!
