How do I take care of wool rugs?
November 25, 2009 by · 1 Comment
I have two rugs….on from pottery barn and one from bomby store……..both are gorgeous but the problem is that they seem to be `shedding’ their fibres…there are small balls of fibres all over our living room….my husband is so fed up that he feels vacuum cleaners are responsible….he has stopped vacumming….he says there has to be a better way….I am desperate….he is suggesting tossing them out……please help…is there a brush or something more sensitive to rugs and especially made to clean rugs?
Is there any way I can keep throw rugs with rubber backs from creeping on the carpet?

I use throw rugs in high traffic areas to save the carpet but I am forever having to reposition them. Each step moves them just slightly and at the end of the day, they’re out of position.

Christmas Rugs, the perfect gift
November 24, 2009 by · Leave a Comment
It’s that time of the year where you find yourself overwhelmed with choices and decisions when it comes to buying a special gift for a loved one.
Our rug buyers already know that a rug makes for a fantastic Christmas gift, whether it’s a Christmas rug or a rug for any other occasion. Let’s face it… rugs stay around for a good while, so your gift is hardly going to be forgotten any time soon!
But the overwhelming feeling can still creep in and settle when you see our massive selection of quality rugs.
So let us help you decide…
What is a Christmas Rug?
Christmas rugs are anything you want them to be. In essence, it’s the gift and the giving of the gift that are both part and parcel of the Christmas spirit, rather than the rug itself.
For the rug shopper of course, this leaves the choice of rug completely ‘open’, which is not such a bad thing since you get to choose whatever tickles your fancy.
Whether you’re looking for an extra large rug, or a popular non shed shaggy rug, or even a festive red wool rug (hint hint!), the choice is both vast and exciting.
Here at Modern Style Rugs we want to help you find the perfect rug in the easiest, fastest way. This is why we’re investing in new technologies to make the selection process that much smoother. Our new e-commerce store will be live in the near future, and we’re all very excited about it – and so will you be when you see how easy we’re making buying a rug online!

How do I attach rugs on top of a carpet? My house is carpeted; my rugs will not stay in place on the carpets.?

I am concerned that using the commonly available tapes will damage the underlying carpet. Specifically, if I used carpet tape to attach my rugs to my carpet, if I decide to remove the rugs and tape will my under carpet not be damaged? I appreciate any ideas. Thanks!
Thank you very much for all your input. Much appreciated.

Any body know where I can get small stair tread rugs w/o latex or rubber backing?
